Well, our tree is up, the decorations are out, and we had our first snow storm last night. Christmas really is coming! I LOVE everything about the Christmas season! The lights, music, yummy foods, spicy smells, and even the shopping frenzy! (Yes, I was one of the crazy people out at 4:00 am on Black Friday to get the good deals...) It's all so much fun. Amidst all the commercial excitement, we're trying to teach Bryan the real meaning of Christmas. He knows, at least, that it's Jesus' birthday, so I guess that's a start. If anyone has good FHE ideas for teaching 3-year-olds about Christmas, send them my way!
Anyway, here's a fun link if you'd like to see us doing some crazy Christmas dancing. (Just copy and paste in your browser) Enjoy!

Why I love my boys
What a blessing it is to be a mother! Bryan and Matthew are the sweetest boys - but I guess every mom thinks that about their own, right? Still, I'm amazed sometimes at how fiercely I love them! It's hard to imagine loving a second child as much as your first, but then you find your heart expands and makes room for the second and you love them equally as much. It's fun, too, to discover the different things there are to love about each one.
Things I love about Bryan:
- He isn't afraid to talk to anyone and thinks all other kids are his "friends."
- He announces his arrival at the playground by saying "Hi kids! Bryan's here!"
- He is a wonderful brother! He loves making Matthew laugh and sings songs to him when he's sad.
- He has an amazing memory for details!
- He loves learning new things, singing songs, reciting rhymes, etc.
- He's a total chatterbox - keeps conversations lively.
- He can turn anything into a "smacker" (his word for gun, I guess???)
- He's very empathetic and gives the best hugs and kisses when we're feeling down.
- Whenever he proposes something to do he counts the different events out on his fingers ("First cars, then chocolate milk, then books...") and finishes off by saying, "Sounds like a plan?"
- He helps me be a better mom by saying things like "Be patient, Mom," or "Good job, Mom. You stopped yelling!" =)
- He has that wonderful childhood innocence that allows him to see the good in everything!
Things I love about Matthew:
- He loves to sit and cuddle! I love cuddly babies!
- He seems to have a very sensitive little spirit.
- He smiles all the time!
- He's got huge squishy cheeks - perfect for kissing. =)
- He can sit alone contentedly for a long while.
- He loves watching Bryan and cracks up at his silly antics.
- He still insists on being swaddled to go to sleep.
- He loves holding onto blankets and soft things.
- He loves to play peek-a-boo. =)
- He loves to make razzing noises at random times.
- He loves being tickled.

Our New Home
Well, we're Salt Lake County residents now! While I was in PA w/ the boys David moved us up to our new condo in Draper. So far, I really like it! I miss the family-friendly environment of our old neighborhood, but I love being close to so many things now(stores, restaurants, museums, etc.). I've decided I wouldn't mind staying in Draper for a while, but who knows where David's job opportunities will lead us.
Happy Halloween!
This year Halloween was a lot of fun! Bryan's old enough now to know what's going on, and after weeks of talking to him about different costume options, he insisted on being a "Handy Manny" / "Bob the Builder." So we bought him some overalls and a little tool set and he was good to go! Even this morning he went up to some people at the park and introduced himself as a construction worker. (He was still wearing the shirt from his costume - insisted on sleeping in it and wouldn't let me take it off this morning!) Just for fun we added a little bit of facial hair... thankfully we discovered that shoe polish does not cause bad skin reactions! We dressed Matthew up in a little frog costume and we had lots of fun "trunk-or-treating" down in our old neighborhood with friends. Bryan especially enjoyed walking around w/ his friend Maylie (dressed as Cinderella). He got lots of candy, but we hid it as soon as we got home and he hasn't mentioned it since! David and I will probably each gain a few pounds after we've finished it off ourselves. Anyway, here are a few more pics of the boys in their costumes!
